The Beginning of an Adventure

I have decided to embark on a grand European tour this summer from May 22 through early/mid August. On Tuesday, I will fly to New York and then to Madrid, Spain to begin this journey. As of right now, I have very few plans beyond arriving at the Madrid-Barajas Airport Wednesday morning. I will stay in Madrid for as long as I please and then make my way around Europe (and hopefully northern Africa) by train and plane to countless yet-to-be-determined locations. I have no official return date. I have no official location to return from. I have no where to stay on Wednesday night when I arrive in Madrid. What I do have is a dream to travel the world, an excitement to meet incredible people, the yearning to experience unique cultures, a stomach ready to taste foreign meals, wide open eyes ready to see the full spectrum of color and an open mind ready to be filled with ideas and experiences I cannot yet fathom.

My original plan this summer was to work at an internship, but after many applications and one interview, I still have yet to be hired. As summer came closer and I had yet to hear back from my single interview, I began to dream of an alternative. This trip was what I came up with, albeit not much more than picking a place on a map to in which to fly. For the sake of mobility, I will only being one bag containing everything I will need for 2.5 months.

I will using this blog to keep those of you interested up to date with where I am, what I am doing, who I am meeting and especially what I am seeing! I will try to update this every other day, but the frequency will be determined by my internet access. I will have many open lines of communication if you would like to get in contact:

Until then,

Aaron_Grand LUCK! The trip will allow you the opportunity that few can imagine and less can implement! I had my
trips sponsored by the government! They provided the perspective I could best use at the time. Allowing us to read your commentary is brilliant. ENJOY THE MAGNIFICENT JOURNEY! Grandad Arnold
